Charlene lived in Lewiston her entire life.  She studied at Mr. Nick’s Beauty College, then was a self-employed hair stylist for more than 35 years.

She was a member of Our lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lewiston.  She also belonged to Catholic Daughters and the Eagles Lodge.  She enjoyed birdwatching, visiting friends, karaoke, coffee dates, and organizing reunions for the LHS class of 1961.  Charlene loved her friends and family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Charlene is survived by her mother, Bessie Gaiser of Lewiston; her son, Jason Austin of Lewiston; daughter-in-law Renee Corder of Lewiston; three sisters, Janet Woolfolk of Clarkston, Frances Hampton of Genesee and Carol Coleman of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Gaiser; and a brother, Jim McKenzie.

The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.  A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.  Father Les Kish will be the officiant.  Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston is handling arrangements.

All those who attend her service will be given peanuts to feed the squirrels at the Normal Hill Cemetery (one of her favorite pastimes) in lieu of a lunch gathering.  Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Daughters at Our Lady of Lourdes.
