Raymond (Rick) passed away peacefully April 7, 2013, at Palomar Hospital after recently being diagnosed with cancer.
Rick was born July 1, 1943, in Lewiston to Charles and Leona Craig. He was the third of six children and spent his childhood in Lewiston. He met and married his high school sweetheart, Myrna Stenerson, and for 51 years they have been devoted to one another. They had three children, Deborah, Cheri and Charles, and the family relocated to San Diego after Rick graduated from the University of Idaho where he received a degree in electronics engineering. He worked at Naval Electronics Lab as an electronics engineer and retired after 34 years. Rick loved his work and was very skilled and respected in his field.
Rick’s greatest passion was for his family. He was a devoted husband and father and a wonderful grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Rick’s family and friends remember him as a very happy man who enjoyed his life. He will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ila Huss; and daughter Cheri Ann Craig who passed away Sept. 18, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Myrna Stenerson-Craig; two brothers, Darrel (Erika) and William Schultz; two sisters, Karen (Tony) Grinolds and Judy (George) Deverman; two children, Deborah Stanford and Charles Craig; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
