Ronald Edward Peters, 63, of Grangeville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at his home. Ronald was born May 12, 1942, to Raymond and Eleanor A. Peters in Spokane. He attended school at Grangeville Elementary until 1956 when his family moved to Lewiston. He graduated from Lewiston High School.

After graduation, Ronald worked for Montgomery Ward and at Smith’s Garden Nursery in Lewiston. On Jan. 17, 1964, Ronald joined the United States Air Force where he served until an honorable discharge on Oct. 2, 1964. After the military, he entered into the logging industry. He worked for numerous logging companies until his retirement in 2004.

Ronald loved backpacking and mountain lake fishing, especially in the Selway Craigs.

He is survived by two sisters, Vivian and husband Ralph Crane of Grangeville and Geraldine Peters of Bend, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Prairie View Cemetery in Grangeville with Pastors Billy and Melvin Wikoff officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville.
