John Robert Borses, a retired Potlatch millwright supervisor, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at his Lewiston home. He was 71.
John was born June 25, 1942, to Steve J. Borses and Elaine N. (Shaw) Borses in Lewiston, where he later graduated from Lewiston High School. He married Shirley Hawks, and she died in 1981. He then married Lucille Borses in 1982.
John loved to ride motorcycles and was a member of several motorcycle clubs. A practical joker with many friends, he was liked by all who knew him. After retirement he and Lucille enjoyed traveling in their recreational vehicle.
John was a great father and devoted husband. He is survived by his wife, Lucille, at the family home; son John James Borses of Farmington, N.M.; daughter Shawn Dammarell of Boise; granddaughters Sabonn Dammarell and Lenae Dammarell, both of Boise, Chelsea Freeman and Melissa Borses, both of Spokane; sister Judy Callahan of Lewiston; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Elaine and Steve Borses; first spouse Shirley Borses; and sister Mary Borses.
A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lewiston.
