John was born September 6, 1943, in Idaho Falls to Noneryrea (Ghumm) Olson and Kenneth Lance. He was formerly of Lewiston and graduated in 1961 from Lewiston High School.

He passed away November 16, 2012, at the age of 69, in Surprise, Arizona. He passed away on his son Brett Lance’s birthday and two days prior to his mother’s death. John had celebrated his 31 years of AA and was a military veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sons, Brett Lance and Clifton Lance. John is survived by his son, Steven A. Lance of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and a sister, Sheryl Smith and Bill of Juliaetta.
