Stephen L. Dodson went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, very unexpectedly at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 21, 1943 to Russell and Velma (Grimm) Dodson Diehl, in Lewiston. He worked as a dry waller for 53 years in Colorado, Alaska, Kamiah and Lewiston. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing the Grande Ronde.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; a sister, Danna Warner; sons Rodney Knight (Jana) of Blackfoot, Idaho, Mike Dodson, and Darren Jagow (Christine), both of Kamiah, and Randy Knight (Ronda) of Lewiston; daughters Dawn (Kevin) Hutchings of Smelterville, Idaho, Lorri Nakamura of Weiser, Idaho, Debbie (Greg) Piper of Arlington, Wash., Lee Ann (Bob) Teigen of Lewiston; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several aunts and uncles.
There was never a job too small for him, and he would help anyone. Steve was a giving, caring man, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to all.
He was a member of the Tammany View Baptist church where he served as a deacon. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. January 6 at Tammany View Baptist Church, 3732 20th St., Lewiston.
